Rolex Oyster Perpetual
In 1931, Rolex patented a self-winding watch movement.
It was one of the first machines to be wound by means of a rotor "weight".
This weight moved as the wearer moved his arm and wrist.
As a result, the mechanism was constantly stretched.
This is where the name "Perpetual" comes from.
