Omega
The Omega brand was born in a small workshop founded by Louis Brandt.
It was founded in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1848.
In the early years of his business, Brandt did very well, albeit very modestly.
His production was not great. But even so, his watches were sold all over the world.
That's how it went for the first 30 years.
When he died in 1879, his sons took over the family business to continue their father's work and vision.
In 1885 the brothers released their first mass-produced Labrador calibre and in 1892 they developed the first minute watch.
Just two years later, they launched the 19-line Omega Caliber, which was the talk of the watch industry.
And it soon became the company's flagship product.
In 1905, Omega took on the role of official timekeeper at sporting events throughout Switzerland.
And in 1932, it won one of the most important timekeeping partnerships.
The company was named the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, California.
This partnership continues to this day.
Omega has reliably measured time as the official timekeeper at more than 20 Olympic Games.
Approximately ten years later, in 1948, Omega Watches introduced the first edition of one of its most iconic watches: the SEAMASTER.
The first Seamaster watch model was introduced exactly 100 years later to celebrate the company's 100th anniversary.
This model is still one of Omega's most respected and best-selling watches today.
