Description
It is said that big brands have the toughest challenge in reinvention, and in the case of Rolex, it was overcome with the Rolex Sky-Dweller, which was unveiled at Baselworld in 2012, after 20 years without a new model. And it succeeded in a big way, as this watchmaking model contains a total of 14 unpublished Rolex patents.
Rolex produced three versions for its presentation, in yellow gold, white gold and rose gold, with the designations 326938, 326939 and 326135, and although it initially went somewhat unnoticed, it is now considered one of the world's finest watches.
In 2014 three new versions were introduced, again in yellow gold, white gold and rose gold or Everose as Rolex's patented rose gold is known, the difference with these models was the strap and moon indicator, the strap on these models was made of leather and the indicator switched from black to red with the markings 326138, 326139 and 326935.
Take off Sky Dwellers
It took 5 years for the Sky-Dweller to be understood, leaving everyone open-mouthed at Baselworld 2017 where they introduced two new versions called Rolesor, the Sky-Dweller reference 326933 in steel and yellow gold and the Sky-Dweller reference 326934 made in steel and white gold, it also had a version in blue steel reference 326938, the latter being the one that captivated those in attendance and made them fall in love with the entire collection.
It was this latest model that made Rolex use the "waiting list" again, and even today, this blue dial Rolex is one of the most difficult models to buy, undoubtedly one of the most desirable to collectors, it is known as the Sky-Dweller Blue.
If you want to get this model, you need to have a lot of patience and a lot of connections, because it is a watch highly sought after by celebrities and sports personalities such as footballers, actors and politicians.
