"For several years I have been considering the idea of making a watch that our dealers could sell at a more modest price than our Rolex watches.
And yet they would achieve the standard and reliability for which Rolex is renowned. I decided to set up a separate company to produce and market this new watch.
Their name will be TUDOR. - H. Wilsdorf
In February 1926, the brand name TUDOR was registered with the house "Veuve de Philippe Hüther".
The registration was made for the sale and manufacture of watches for Hans Wilsdorf.
